Highlights
Cornell University’s Iota Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi assessed the condition of their 104-year-old chapter house and found it needed a major investment to provide a competitive, up-to-date facility to serve young college men well into the future. Their highly successful fraternity fundraising efforts addressed these important chapter house improvement issues:

  • Relocated stairwells to address flow issues throughout the house

  • Created proper landings at all staircase locations

  • Developed a study lounge in the attic

  • Painted walls and refinished wood surfaces throughout the house

  • Refurbished flooring in the kitchen, bar, and dining room, living areas, and attic

  • Improved ventilation and replaced windows with more efficient materials

  • Installed a dehumidifier

  • Improved plumbing and drainage systems

  • Built enclosed laundry area and utility/supply closet

  • Installed fire-rated doors for all rooms

  • Expanded kitchen and relocated pantry
